"I don't WANNA!" the boy shouted angrily. Out of all his children, it seemed young Gwydion had the fiercest temper... for now. He dreaded imagining them all becoming this obstinant. He wasn't sure how to deal with his sons tantrum, Sorcha was always innately better at this sort of thing. He sighed as Gwydion stomped his little paws and stuck his nose in the air. Baelfire's instinct was to just scruff him and drag him back home but he knew that would only cause resenment and honestly, a worse tantrum once they got home. He'd taken him out on a short walk before sunset, but the daylight was waning and it was time to go home. Only... Gwydion did not want to go home. He wanted to keep exploring. "Son, we have to go home. It's too dangerous to be out after dark. You know that." he said, trying to reason with the child. "Nuh-uh! I neva see nothin' ou' 'ere!" he said, shaking his head. Baelfire groaned, thinking perhaps he really should just grab him and go. His ears twitched as he heard pawsteps. He knew from the familiar foot fall that it was Sorcha, and also he could detect her scent nearby. She was probably coming to inspect why it was taking him so long to wrangle their fiesty child. He suddenly smirked and looked at Gwydion, who now looked up at him rather suspiciously. "You hear that? That might be the Fae... coming to take naughty children back home with them." he warned. Gwydion was not so brave after hearing that. He paled and looked past his father. "W-Well... you won' let them will ya, dad?" he stammered. |
