Heavy steps approached and for a moment, Caspian wondered if he had summoned a gnome or a troll rather than a pixie. Then again, he was not choosey when it came to the beautiful fae. A little extra around was more to hold, afterall.

His smile grew after warm clips pressed against his own and he lifted a paw to move the blindfold. With all of the scents of the festival—that of booze and meat and whatnot—Caspian could not tell immediately that this bear—wait no, wolf—was a gentleman. Sea-green eyes widened for a moment as he took in the massive face and thick features.

He blinked.

"Goddess above," he said at last as the shock began to wear off. "I came to catch fish but it seems I've got myself a whale." Although the words did sound like an insult, he did mean them with utter wonder. How could a wolf be this big? Did he fit in dens? "Is your mother okay, ma'am? Do you have siblings? Are they all as big as you?" His tongue clicked against his mouth, his typical suavness lost in his sheer curiosity.

Granted, that didn't make it less rude and he deserved a cuff against the ears.

There was no telling what had inspired Sundstol to put himself out there the way he had. Perhaps after spending a few years a hermit, the world outside his own had changed. There was a pleasant hum that had warmed deep in his chest, a buzzing of excitement for what could possibly lead to more.

The slightly smaller male blinked at him and he blinked back, his tiny emerald eyes disappearing behind his own fluttering eyelids and oversized brows. This fellow was the one that would remind him that the outside world…that wolves…don’t change too much. Sundstol’s ears lay back, the brute’s initial comment sparking a memory.

“Come on, tubby! What are you gonna do? Cry to your mommy? Haahaahahaha!~”

With one memory came several more like it, the mocking laughter that haunted his childhood echoing behind his angered gaze that only grew more stern, nostrils flaring. What was more insulting than the sticks and stones was that he’d bestowed a kiss as rare and precious as his own upon this filthy sea dog. A growl rumbled in his throat at the mention of his mother and he lurched forward threateningly, his softer demeanor having vanished. “Piss off…” He bellowed, moving to shove roughly past the male.

Caspian could be clever—but that was the problem. Accuracy meant very little without percision. What use was an archer that hit the bullsey once every blue moon? If the rest of his arrows sailed off into the surrounding woods, he wasn't much of a hunter.

It was in these precious few moments that Caspian restrung his proverbial bow. The details clicked into place with the brevity of the rising tide. This wolf was in fact a man. A comment of size when made so bluntly was painfully rude. And the inquiry about one's mother surviving the labor was... well... Caspian's lip curled slightly in regret.

His sister Black had been raised with too much silence. Caspian, ever the helpful brother, had taken all of those extra, leftover words for himself. Which often led to oversharing and wanting to shove his foot in his mouth. Physical muffles seemed to work better than mental ones for the man.

"Oof," he gasped as the man shoved by, and Caspian couldn't help but whince. Well deserved, that, he supposed.

"Hey there," the seafaring wolf called after as he sped up to catch up. "I'm sorry about that—I've got a salt-addled brain. You can hit me harder if you like," a hopeful smile brightened on his face.

"Let me make it up to you—or fix this somehow."

Sundstol was making a beeline back towards his home among the autumn-stained forest. He should've never have given into silly curiosities drawing him out to the festivities of Eleanor's Day. It was an innocent ruse that only held a hurtful end for him.

His ears flicked in response to a voice calling out to him and he paused momentarily, turning his head only to find what the tide had dragged in. An eyebrow rose briefly in the midst of his glare, confused as to why the man would give him an opportunity to slug him into next week. Sundstol wasn't going to give him that satisfaction.

"No." He replied plainly in response to such an idiotic offering. The male did have a lovely smile, he noted, although it was unlikely that he was charming anyone with a mouth like his. Emerald orbs narrowed to slits when the sea wolf hinted to making amends for his behavior.

Sundstol was a simple man who wanted for nothing. There wasn't much that could sway him one way or another and so he placed that burden upon the man's shoulders naturally allowing him to present suggestions. "I'm listening..."

The bearno, stop that, idiot, seethed his conscience—man made a beeline out of the grove and Caspian felt like each step pounded a nail into his coffin. He glanced around, all too conscious of the withering stares of those that had noticed the exchange. Heh... A pained smile touched his lips as he scampered after the stranger, earnest to right the ship.

Only it was like trying to sway a brick wall. "No," came the unceremonious reply. And yet there was a line of rope that had been left, likely for Caspian to hang himself with. Afterall, he had the opportunity to try and appease the stranger.

A dark ear flicked and couldn't help but laugh incredulously. "But I know nothing about you, how could I offer something you'd want?" He scampered ahead and turned to hopefully block the stranger's path. "Come on, give me a hint. Do you like the sea? Or things that come from it like fish or seaweed?" His head tilted to the side, gaze questioning. "Interested in blokes or ladies? I could serve as a wing man, or if you like a drink I could buy you a beer," A black paw lifted as if to shake on some sort of deal.

Sundstol's eyebrows furrowed as he gave him an unimpressed look in response to his feeble scrambling. "You seemed good at making assumptions just a moment ago..." He grumbled before beginning to move away again only to have the persistent man blocking his path.

He halted and stood still, giving the seafarer the same glare that could only translate into a simmering irritation. Tiny emeralds bore into the other's similar gaze from beneath heavy brows that slowly rose as the smaller male suddenly began to offer what he could, likely to only save face.

"Not sure. Never spent much time by the sea." His bear sized head shook and he shrugged. He did seem to take an interest in way was said next. Sundstol hummed thoughtfully, thinking the options over. "How about...all of the above. Wingman and a drink."

He then moved closer so that he slightly towered over him moreso to gauge his reaction rather than threaten as he spoke lowly, "And, I wouldn't have planted one on yeh if I fancied ladies."
