lover’s entire life thus far had been the Fae Forest. She could hardly believe her eyes when she and Meala had finally come to the border where the expanse of trees completely ceased, leading way into an open field of floral delight. The awestruck girl took to the meadow immediately, spending day after day here, thinking that where she found herself now was possibly the best place she would ever be. It hadn’t even ever occurred to her that there was so much more that lie being this region. If her life was made up of forest and meadow, she knew she would be able to live out her life in absolute bliss.

This particular morning greeted her with the ever-pleasant aroma of so many natural blooms that colored the sea of green in vibrant hues of reds, blues, purples, pinks, yellows, you name it! Clover bathed in all of it, burying herself beneath the flowers, allowing herself become one with Mother Earth.

A fluttery movement caught her eye and drew her to her feet, attention solely on the journey of a monarch butterfly that was traveling along a gentle breeze. She hopped up and giggled, bounding after the delicate creature of the sky. “Ay! Look, Mister Fluttery! I can fly just as you can! Watch me do et!” Clover called after it as she danced here and there, moving with wind as it nudged her fur, wondering what it would be like to have butterfly wings herself.

Hidden amongst the grasses with a wet nose pushed deep into his studies, suddenly was the curly-pelted lad awakened by the sudden sound of feminine glee. To say the gent was bewildered, well, it was an understatement. With every noise that came fluttering its wings softly from the little darling's muzzle did he tilt his boyish head in perplexity and, to put it bluntly, amusement. Never in his years (albeit short) had he laid eyes on an individual so harmlessly innocent. She’d coo at the songs that passed through flowers, letting sweet laughter slip from her delicate lips, to which he responded with a merry thumping of his tail.

The fellow was curious by nature, taking every opportunity she’d given him to now make his presence known in a… Rather an unusual manner. He mimicked her! Yes, exactly that! When she giggled? Well by grace, the lad would let his chest fill with handsome chuckles! And when the little miss jumped about like a flightless bird? The young sir would study her for a moment before lifting upward to bounce about after whatever they were chasing. He had to admit, that one was a bit bizarre, as he was certain that wolves couldn't fly, but no bother!

She seemed to be having fun, why not join in? "Wot exactly are we doing?" He bounded closer, a smile on his foolish face. Were they pretending to be frogs? He liked frogs!

he heard the disturbance of meadow grasses parting with another leaping and bounding up to her side. Clover was surprised, but pleasantly so, to have another wolf join her in her own little world of play. The smile plastered across her maw only grew as her bright pink gaze landed upon a very large and rather scruffy looking male. "Hi!" She greeted cheerily before her ears perked to his question as he asked what they were doing.

She laughed aloud and skidded to a halt, nearly toppling into a bed of daisies. Turning around she trotted over to him on those still-oversized puppy paws that were the root of all her clumsily missteps. "We're tryin, ta fly with the butterfly! I was showin' him mah pretty twirls and all that!"

She cast her curious rosey hued orbs to the sky and then turned about, her brows furrowing. "Agh! Now where'd he bugger off to?" When Clover faced her new friend again she did a double-take before her eyes grew wider. She approached him with no care to boundaries as her face came within inches of his, even if she had to stand on her tiptoes to do so. "Whut's this shiny sparkle on yer nose?"

The spring-laced poppet had exclaimed joyously about a creature he had never heard before! One that flew as she had bounced, one that must have been alluring enough to satisfy her fancy! If he was lucky, his too! Boyish locks caressed a tilting head, optics as bright as summer grasses searching for a meaning to her words. A "flutterfly", she called it. He wondered what such amazement looked like?

For a moment he remained idle, searching the flowers that flickered in and out of her background as his curiosity kept him preoccupied from her sudden closeness. It hadn't been his interrupted view that caught his attention, nor her singsong voice, but the warm breathe upon his bosom set his cheeks alight with bright embarrassment. Up close she was beautiful, though her eyes reflected a golden hue he knew only to be of his own doing.

"U-Um, I... M..Miss, the f-flutterfly! Yes, the flutterfly es getting away! Voice cracking, legs buckling as he found the strength to leap forward in a direction he was hoping fit his excuse. "Over 'ere! Gonna miss et!" Miss what? He didn't know! He hadn't found the so-called thing they were looking for!

er eyelashes fluttered as she blinked expectantly at him, her wonderstruck eyes glancing between him and where she thought the butterfly might’ve gone. She jumped, slightly startled by his sudden leap forward and she perked up, dancing on her paws when he announced he’d seen her winged friend. “Ooo, ooo! Where? Over there?”

Clover bounded after him and thought she saw a flicker of wings off to the side, luring her into a detour. She spotted a log that it disappeared past a scraggly looking bush and she bolted towards it, turning her head to call back at her wolf acquaintance before she reached it. “I think I found ‘im!”

She burst through the undergrowth only to find that the grounds disappeared beneath her feet, leaving her paddling mid-air before she began to tumble down a grassy hill. “W-whoa!”

A bundle of cream and sandstone rolled over and over and over down the knoll until she flopped out at the bottom, landing in the midst of a grove of violet and aster that attracted what appeared like hundreds of butterflies…or, well, for a dizzied little girl, it was more like thousands.
