Profile of Cyanide

Cyanide had been the runt of her litter, so even as an adult, she's a bit smaller than average. Of course, don't let this fool you when you meet her. She's an angry, violent tiny woman. Her coat is dark brown, almost black. She has bright yellow eyes, almost resembling the fire she is so obsessed with. Her muzzle has some long, distinctive scars from a past battle.

Cyanide will often be sarcastic, stubborn and narrow-minded. She likes to stick to her own way of thinking and her own beliefs, only leaning closer to another point of view if shown exact, reliable truth. If that's not the case, she will stick to her way being the right way and/or the only way and will hardly ever admit she's in the wrong.

Cy's very cynical and a typical pessimist, always expecting the worst and seeing the negative in situations. She has little faith in anyone and tends to think the worst of others. Cy is reserved and does not trust easily. Because of this, she hardly opens up, so there's a lot she keeps to herself. In a way, this has helped her learn not to be gullible and to try to analyze others and situations more closely. It would take a lot for her to open up to anyone, especially romantically, so it would have to take someone with great determination and care. The moment anyone does wrong by her, they are usually out and Cy wants nothing to do with them. On the other hand, to those she does hold dear, she will do anything to protect and defend them.

Her actions have a habit of being done through impulse, especially if led on by her temper. Her patience level can be limited, but when she has her mind set on something, she will not give up so easily.

Lastly, she is obsessed with fire. If she could, she would control it with her mind and wield its power. Instead, she settles for watching it and doesn't mind as much if she's close enough to be burned.

Cyanide comes from a family of hunters in the Mainlands. Growing up, her and her siblings were taught the family trade. Cy, being the youngest and smallest, was often bullied by her siblings and neighboring kids. For a while she put up with it, but eventually it became too much.

When they were old enough to help run the family business, Cy left and started her own. It was through this that she met who she thought was the love of her life, Aspen. They even had a child together, Maeve, and she was the next best thing to happen in her life.

For once, Cy felt happy, but this didn't last for long. It turned out Aspen wasn't who she thought he was. He had several lovers on the side and the whole "settling down to start a family" thing was just a big lie. She kicked him out and raised Maeve on her own.

As Maeve grew up, Cy quickly realized she didn't need a partner to be happy. Having her daughter and seeing her grow into a beautiful girl was enough. She taught Cy many things about the world around them, things she never would have thought about or bothered to pay attention to. Maeve just had a way of seeing the beauty in all things and others.

But even that couldn't last long. When Jacob's rebellion caused chaos on the streets, Maeve was killed by a rebel during the war. Cy has been bitter and angry ever since and has vowed to avenge her death.

She put her hunting business behind her and trained for months until finally, she became an imperial army soldier. It was the only way she could make sure the rebels never gained power again, but also the best way to gain information. She's determined to find the rebel who killed her daughter and make them pay.

Eventually, she might come to the rude awakening that the one responsible is not part of the rebellion, but is a member of the very guild she joined.
