He comes from sweat and backbone stock, an impressive convergence of muscle and academic acuity beneath a rather unimpressive appearance. Aph's unmarred fur retains a rosy tinge, most visible around his unpigmented eyes and pink nose, and made unkempt by the aloe solution he applies to protect his sensitive skin on sunny days.

Ultimately altruistic, Aphelion can’t be swayed easily by persuasion, but he might opt to yield to avoid unnecessary conflict. He prefers to resolve issues amicably, though he won’t compromise on truly important matters, such as those that might be to the detriment of the many. Alongside his brother Perihelion, he was raised to uphold the tenets—honor, integrity, and surety in one’s own beliefs—that their fathers most value. Grigori served Rionnach first as a college guardsman, then as a soldier of the Imperial Army before defecting to the Jacobian cause with his husband, before finally retiring to life as a tavernkeep, enabling him to provide for and connect with the people directly. Arythmetik, beloved scholar and advocate for equality, was beset by rogue soldiers who mercilessly claimed his life but failed to erase the imprint he left on the world. These men serve as the twin pillars that Aph can look toward for guidance, even as his own life unfolds on an entirely different continent.

Aph is a supportive shoulder for friends and strangers alike to lean upon. Though he’s grown to be more discerning, he’s still prone to naivety and granting other wolves too much of his trust, often overlooking ill intentions that someone else would take at face value. It still requires effort for him to trust in his own instincts. As a child, Aph grappled with feeling like an outlier among his kin. He didn’t blend among them, set apart by his ghostly appearance but nevertheless showered by familial love. Some of that insecurity bleeds into his adult life even now, but he’s working to build his confidence. It’s not unusual to see his features glowing vibrantly crimson from embarrassment.
