spring 1707:
a yorkshire native, senka was born alongside her brother roman and sister taisa in the spring of 1707. their parents were a love match between an imperial army colonel and a mayor; that love for one another, however, did not diminish their rigid expectations for their children. with a strong political foothold in yorkshire, roman would follow in the pawsteps of their father, and enrolled in the army as soon as he was of age. taisa, the elder of the sisters, would learn their mother's trade and all its nuances. and as for senka—she would further establish her family's political prowess by linking her to the son of a sussex mayor: augustine scowcroft.
spring 1708:
senka and augustine meet for the first time.
summer-winter 1708:
senka and augustine meet a number of times over the course of that year. most often, he comes to yorkshire—he develops a respectable relationship with veles, though effie is somewhat more difficult to win over. once, during the summer, senka travels to sussex; she falls in love with its rugged wilderness and jovial people and free reign of the ocean. over that year, senka and augustine become fast friends, and senka looks forward to each time they meet.
summer 1709:
senka and augustine are married! senka moves to sussex and begins her new life.
summer-winter 1709:
senka and augustine grow closer over the course of the year, and by year's end, they are hopelessly in love. so much so that they are rarely seen apart.
spring 1710:
augustine's father dies, and everything changes.
summer 1710:
senka's father is wounded in the final battle at melrose, and subsequently dies from his injuries. on the return trip home, grief and desperation drive her into the arms of her escort,
odysseus barin. they begin a blistering affair.
winter 1710:
thanks to a witness, senka's infidelity is discovered by augustine. in the ensuing fight, accusations are hurled, and she viciously reminds augustine of his own crimes before walking out on their marriage. a few days later, senka is found ill at an inn by odysseus, and the pair subsequently come to the realization that senka is pregnant.
spring 1711:
after an arduous pregnancy, senka
gives birth to denya and arachne barin.
