morgana slipped away from their family home and into the dark night with her young daughter. together, they settled in the fae forest and once little elwynn was old enough, morgana began teaching her the old ways. she tried her best to cement a sense of duty within her daughter, in order to restore their coven, but unfourtunately... elwynn wasn't listening. she had no interests in becoming a blackwood brood mare when there were so many more fun things to do. sometime around her first year, her poor mother died mysteriously and she was left to her own devices.
while she wasn't interested in the same things her mother had been, she was inclined to twist her religion to suit her own devious nature. and it was at that time, when she was finally free, to make a choice in sacrifice for the fae. she selected a lonesome pup she'd been trailing for a few days. the poor thing had gotten lost, wandering into the wood without its parents. she smiled, her intense gaze resting upon him hungrily.
it was always a squirrel or a rabbit or some other inconsequential creature her mother had selected for them to bleed dry in the woods, but this time... this time she'd give the fae a proper sacrifice. they (and she) deserved more.
so she plucked the little blue boy up and took him deeper into the wood, where nobody would ever find him again.
but miraculously he survived. elwynn suspected that the fae willed him to live and that perhaps her mother had been sacrifice enough. their blood lust was sated, as was hers, for now. she picked up the bloody and unconcious boy and took him back to her home where she cared for him until he came to. when he returned, he didn't seem to remember what she had just done and so she played her part and adopted him as her own. she named him... zoltan blackwood.
