The pup lived off the food left to her for a while but, unable to hunt to feed herself, she traveled out of the den when she had finally grown hungry. It was then she came upon a traveling troupe of entertainers, two of which were a mated couple struggling to grow with child. With sympathetic hearts, the troupe took Evangeline in and raised her as their own. They taught her to act and treated her as family, even including her in their performances once she played her roles suitably. Evangeline was happy for a time, the freedom of which she was given allowing her to become a wild, passionate wind. Unfortunately, she would learn that all good things must come to an end.
As she grew older, filled out more, she caught the eye of one she considered her uncle among her adopted family. Evangeline cannot recall when his gaze had turned lustful; she can only recall the night he chose to act upon it. The girl had fought, but it would be a battle she would lose time and time again as months went on beneath the male’s abuse. Night after night she had prayed that her rape be discovered, but to afraid to speak for fear of his wrath. One night she confessed to her adopted mother in confidence, but found her family refusing to believe her. Instead she was met with wild accusations, as if crime for which she was a victim had been her fault
That same night, Evangeline fled everything familiar to her in search of safety and a place to call her own. Ruined and pained, she wandered until a male found her begging for scraps from a vendor at a market. Rather than purchase her a meal, he propositioned her; a night of his pleasure in trade for the ability to buy food for herself. Desperate, she conceded to his offer, and thus her persona, “Cherie”, was born. Eventually, all traits of the girl she’d been had faded away, leaving her nothing but the strength for what she must become. She travels the lands now as her alias, selling her body for items of value and claiming her place amongst the guild of thieves.
