Profile of Nephele

A dainty and petite woman, thin legged and slim bodied. Her cheeks are plush and round with feathery tresses and her snout is long and pointed with a sharp vulpine-like tip. Dominantly white with a mixture of black covering her face, back, tail, belly and back legs.

Note: Nephele was maimed and had both eyes removed. Her eyelids are always closed to hide her injuries.

A gentle, soft spoken woman with a sensitive heart. She invests a great deal of emotion in those she cares about, worrying and stressing sometimes excessively over them. At times she can be stubborn and reckless acting on emotion rather than logic. She has a bad habit of pretending everything is fine when actually she is struggling. Being blind has made life exceedingly difficult for her, but she has found alternative ways to cope. Nephele explores the world through touch, using her muzzle and nose like a fingertip to create a picture in her mind of others' physical appearance and anything else that intrigues her.

From a young age Nephele and her litter mates were reared as sacrificial lambs. As pups they were maimed of their senses to please the three headed god her pack worshipped. Nephele's eyes were gouged out, her younger brother Callister's tongue was ripped out and their youngest sister Melora's ears were torn off. See no evil. Hear no evil. Speak no evil. The commandments inspired this brutal butchery of children. Aged two Nephele and her brother Callister escaped from their natal pack in fear for their lives as they were due to be the next victims. Their fanatical sister Melora stayed behind determined to give her life for their god. Callister and Nephele were separated some days into their escape by a sudden storm.

Alone in a strange land and helpless for the first time in her life Nephele stumbled upon a woman wrestling with the tide. The stranger would become her closest companion, her knight in shining armour and the love of her life. Their relationship was tested by an outside threat, a wolf in sheep's clothing who had cost Kylar her home, her former love and now her family.

Fearing for their lives they fled from Cyrileth and settled in Rionnach. It was not a peaceful land, but one riddled with war and terror. Nephele and Kylar found a litter of pups, victims of the war and took them in as their own growing their family from two to five. Their children became her motivation to help do what she could to ease the pain of others and she took up studies as a nurse in the College of Eolas. The dream of opening a clinic to help those wounded in body and soul became a reality and Haven opened its doors.
