Royalist Raid

Royalist Raid

Within the lowlands of Ayr, the royalists gather for more than a political meeting. Rumors of the monarchy supporters gather for some good. In search of getting some good press for the monarchy and all that they do, as well as bringing the two together. People and nobles, politicians and citizens. In coming together, they get to prove that their side is not only one. But a whole. Community and togetherness. Afterwards, they will go through the neighborhoods; giving food to those who are in need.

When the call for a community gathering rose in support of the king, Argent was one of the first to answer it. The retired captain only hoped his broken body wouldn't fail him and make a fool out of him. His doctors would scold him, but he was tired of taking it easy. It had been half a year since he'd been injured and he'd behaved himself... mostly. Maybe it was just his pride, but he wanted to prove that he still had it. The youthful vigour that he'd had in his prime. The strength that had served him throughout his military career. It was still in there somewhere.

He mentally hyped himself up, grey eyes locking with the gaze of their selected prey. A sheep. He would not be bested by a bloody sheep.

The small woman trekked calmly into the place so long ago she called home, where she was born and her family prospered with living off the land directly. Her ears folded back a little as she glanced around the area to take in any faces she might recognize that had gathered here to do some good for the people in the name of the King. It wasn’t everyday the party was aiming to aid the people in such a way, guarding and patrols were far more common to help civilians but to feed the poor and needy? It wasn’t such a frequent sight, especially with so many that supported the King being nobles with a stick up their asses but then there were others that did in fact care and those were the ones that she found more kin with. To help was her duty as part of the army but this wasn’t about that, if she could do something more to help those in poor positions within society, she would be there as best she could be and also to set an example for her daughter whom was draped in riches; community mattered more than wealth or one’s image.

A hunt was just a start to that change she wished to see and she was more than willing to put her time and energy into taking down the large ram that it seemed everyone was set on bringing down. She knew this prey, it was no stranger to her and first thing was first, she hoped everyone was smart enough to keep out of the way of its horns and didn't stupidly get in the way of it's hooves. Last thing she wanted was fatalities. Now to not lose her other eye in the process as she readied herself for the signal to start the hunt.

aelfire was ready to relieve some stress and a hunt was the perfect way for him to do just that. This would also help bring their fractured community together, or so he hoped. He'd made his way to Ayr, a place he did not freuqent often, and there he began to survey the land. Others had begun to gather and he smelled the scent of hooved prey lingering and assumed that was what they were going after. His mind was a little distracted on just what the scent belonged to as he thought of his family at home. He didn't think that prey would best him, but lately he'd been worried about leaving them behind like his parents had essentially done to him and his brother. That had broken his family and while he felt no resentment toward them for the things that happened, as they had been mostly out of their control, he did not want his own pups to suffer the same fate. He wanted to be there when he was old and grizzled, just like he wished his own parents were here for him.

He sighed and moved into position, ears tilting forward as he continued to scan the area and try his best to keep out of sight as his mind began to focus on the task at hand. He still had a job and duties to attend to and this was as good way as any to get back into the swing of things.

t long last, Cian had something to do. He had been waiting for some action, to show what he was capable of, despite his youth. Finally, the opportunity had presented itself, and Cian was eager to join his fellow Royalists in their pursuit. Sure, it was not exactly battling enemies of the king. It was... a sheep. But it was for a good cause, and the tall adolescent stood at the ready, feeling rather grown up in the midst of his fellow hunters. He wondered, briefly, if he was out of place. But his facade remained determined as he waited for orders from his elders.

This was what he had been waiting for. And Cian would not let them down - his fellow hunters, his family, his king.
