Wisteria wound around the man, hanging heavily from the trees, branches sagging beneath the pale petal’s weight. It was strange, something Danya had never seen before. He had wandered farther, entering a new portion of the kingdom as far as she could tell. Passing strangers had called this place ‘Melrose,’ speaking of a ‘college’ as they had passed. He understood well enough to know that Melrose was the name of the locale but knew not what the word ‘college’ meant. Admittedly, Danya felt some source of frustration about this simple fact – this kingdom was so unlike the vast wild land he was used to. Structures resided in this land, built by something other than the digging and scraping of paws. How they’d popped up, and more importantly
who had built them remained a mystery to the man, and he had gathered that it seemed to be very much a mystery to the locals as well.
Regardless though, the novelty of it all was a quiet promise of prosperity, the prospect of success strong. His business would have failed in the Tundra, amongst the primitive packs he had been born into knowing so well. But here… Here in Rhionnach the concept could flourish and prosper. Danya just had to find pretty bodies to stock it. Which, with Aurelia’s help would not be too terribly difficult. He wanted a few more beyond her, courtesans to essentially do the work for him. From what he’d heard, there were freelance whores out and about, nearly everywhere. He just had to find them and bring them into his fold. Easy enough, correct? That would remain to be seen.
A figure up ahead drew Danya from his thoughts, making him pause and shake to displace the petals that stuck to his tundra-borne pelt. The sweet scent of a woman touched his nose, and for a moment he smiled. Perhaps his luck would look upon him kindly today, and he could pull someone in. The pelt ahead was one of fire, of sun and earth. A pretty pelt, nonetheless. A little bit of… variety would do well. The man picked up his pace a little, not quite a trot but a quick-paced walk was all he needed to get within speaking distance of the woman.
“Hello there,” he said, deep voice rumbling slightly in his chest.
