T She certainly had no place to be in the meantime and the boy seemed to enjoy taking the lead wherever they were going. Eventually they would find who they were looking for and in the meantime, she would try to get to know this lost yearling as she could. His speech troubled her, but she felt that if she kept having conversations with him, he’d eventually pick up on tongue more common as he continued to grow approaching adulthood. The traveling companions soon came upon a clearing and she thought she saw a familiar earthen coat. Could it be? There was no way she was this lucky. The only way to find out was by seeing those amethyst eyes that belonged to the woman they’d ought out. Nimue began to slow her gait, calling out to the figure in the distance. “Rhiannon?” @Rhiannon @Ephemeral (This post was last modified: 09-25-2021, 08:27 AM by Nimue.) |
T ”Nimue,” she greeted, warmth in her voice as her lavender sights sought the sapphire eyes of her water goddess. Then, her focus turned to the child, who the wolfess looked upon in mild wonderment. It was not every day that Rhiannon should come across a child, and, if she were to presume that Nimue had accompanied the boy (or vice versa) to this clearing, that seemed all the more unusual. She asked, with humor lacing her tones: ”Ahh. Is it yours?” Rhiannon understood that this would be quite impossible for a wolfess such as Nimue, and laughable, still, for Nimue to even consider bearing offspring by some doltish, undeserving brute. The very thought of a male near Nimue caused agitation with Rhiannon’s chest. But that did not solve the mystery of the youth, who Rhiannon regarded with continued curiosity. She was not entirely unfamiliar with interactions with children, thanks to Juniper, and she offered the boy a smile. ”Dear heart, what do they call you? I am Rhiannon.” @Ephemeral @Nimue

Ephemeral had no issue at all with taking the lead. He was still as excitable as a pup and would run ahead to check out some small something that would catch his eye but then he would just as quickly return to Nimue's side just in case he might end up losing her. He certainly couldn't lose his new friend. What would that seem like? But still he couldn't help wandering off either. The world was still so new and interesting to him.
They had departed from the sand of the coast, leaving behind the tidepools, for the soft floor of the woodlands instead. This was the perfect area for bunnies! So of course the yearling kept his eye out for them. If he were a bunny then where would he hide? The boy was distracted from this search by the exchange of names. Rhiannon! That was who they were looking for! "Hi! We find you!" The boy's tail wagged excitedly behind him when he was spoken to. He was quick to look back over at Nimue with a huge grin transforming his features. "I good find!" He announced proudly as if this were some sort of huge accomplishment that not just anyone could do. "I Ephy. Ephemeral. Ephy. Nim say find you and I find you and now you can help find Mama and make Mama wake up cause we friend." The words came out in a rush, nearly flowing into each other. |
T She moved in to bump heads with the other female, her gaze glimmering as she withdrew in reassurance that no one had yet been closer Nimue than she. Once she got any hint that the message had been received, she offered a subtle wink just before Ephy launched into his introduction. Nimue blinked down at the younger lad, impressed that his stamina seemed to be never-ending. She even learned bit more information from his flapping gums this time around. Ephemeral. So, that was his name. The taller wolfess awaited patiently until he was finished and when he went to catch his breath (if he needed to at all), her sapphire orbs sought amethysts. “I found him alone on Glass Beach…his mother was nowhere to be found and he has no memory of where she is.” She sighed deeply and peered over at Ephy with sympathy. “I couldn’t have just left him there.” @Ephemeral @Rhiannon
